There is NO Quick & Dirty Way to Write Good Content

Looking for the 'easy money', the 'quick fix', the 'silver bullet' . . . well here's the 'down and dirty' . . . there is NO quick and easy way to create good, effective, compelling content for your website, your blog posts and your social media posts.  You have to put in the time and effort, and share your knowledge and experience with others.

We have seen so many 'generic' posts on real estate Facebook pages.  Brokers hired someone unconnected to their company and their communities to populate their social media with content that is NOT original and simply a reposting of real estate news sites, NAR Magazine, and others.  And, whether they realize it or not, these companies are posting the same exact thing to all their customer's social media sites.  How effective do you think that is?

Creative Block? Don't Give Up! Think A Little Longer.

We all have creative blocks now and then.  It's not you . . . it happens to everyone.  This short video suggests that the best way to overcome creative blocks is to just keep thinking.  Very simple, right? As this video from The Science of Us explains, psychologists found that people tend to give up too early in the brainstorming process, and if they just kept it up a little bit longer they would come up with lots more ideas.  It seems the longer you brainstorm on a subject, the more creative your ideas become.  Makes sense.  Good things come to those who 'invest the time'.

Take Your Business Out Into The Community

First and foremost, your business is local.  Your customers live in the communities that you serve (or will live there).  Don’t wait for your customers to come to you; look for ways to get in front of them. Here are a few ideas:

Host a Cookout – Invite your customers (past and present) to join your business for a celebration of summer/fall. Use your parking lot or public park and plan on catering yourself (a grill, hot dogs, hamburgers, salad, and cold drinks are fine). Look for ways to make this a worthwhile event for folks to want to join – hire a magician, moon bounce, or give away prizes. Don’t forget to offer incentives to those who attend so that they have a good reason to keep frequenting your business and recommending their friends and family.
