Blogging-Content Creation

Creative Block? Don't Give Up! Think A Little Longer.

We all have creative blocks now and then.  It's not you . . . it happens to everyone.  This short video suggests that the best way to overcome creative blocks is to just keep thinking.  Very simple, right? As this video from The Science of Us explains, psychologists found that people tend to give up too early in the brainstorming process, and if they just kept it up a little bit longer they would come up with lots more ideas.  It seems the longer you brainstorm on a subject, the more creative your ideas become.  Makes sense.  Good things come to those who 'invest the time'.

Intelligent Tagging - How To Use Tags Right

Think of Tags as part of your website's index, letting both readers and search engines lock in on a specific topic and easily find all the content on your site that is related to that topic.  Tags are a way of organizing your website content so that readers and search engines can find it easier.

Tags not only help readers navigate your website, but they also have the benefit of making your blog more 'sticky' for visitors. If you’ve ever used a 'related posts' plugin, you know the benefits of letting readers know how to continue to read about the same topics on your website. Instead of hitting the back button to search for more info, they see that they can find it all on your website.

While the primary purpose of Tags are to help your readers navigate your blog posts and other content, using them properly will also improve your SEO.  How does that work?  The internal links of the Tags guide search engine bots to discover all your site’s content by following those links. The anchor text of the Tag names tell the search engines what topics your website is about, and allow you to rank for those targeted keywords.

Note on this blog post that we used two Tags, Blogging/Content Creation and Search Engine Optimization, because this post is about both of those broader subjects. When you click on either of these, you are linked to a page that displays all posts with the same Tag.  You can see how useful that might be, for your readers as well as for search engines.

How to Achieve The Best Results From Each Blog Post

Every real estate brokerage business should have a blog incorporated in their company website.  If you want to attract more traffic to your website, generate more leads and sell more properties, then you need to be blogging.  If you don’t have a blog incorporated in your website you are surely losing sales to your competitors that do.

Posting articles to your blog and sharing the links on social media are the most important parts of your content marketing strategy. Why?

First, because each blog post is indexed by the search engines giving you an opportunity to appear in search results and be found by your target audience.

Second, when you share your blog post links on your social media sites, and a user clicks on your post to read it, they are linked back to your website to read the post.

Third, if your blog post is interesting, others will share it with their connections, which will help you grow your influence and exposure.

Your goal is to attract, inform and engage your audience, endear them to your company, and convert them to a lead or someone who will refer your services to their friends and family.  A well-designed content marketing strategy will help you get in front of more people who can benefit from your services.

To achieve the best results from each blog post it’s important to embrace these 6 broad concepts:
